increasing minimum wage

Minimum wage should be increased for the people of California. Increasing minimum wage will help relieve stress on people by allowing them to have more money to pay for the cost of living. People will be able to support their families better. People will also be able to pay loans and debts.

First of all, the cost of living is extremely high for people to afford their rent. By increasing minimum wage people would receive a higher salary from their place of employment. That would  make a way  for people to be able to afford the cost of living .For example, in California minimum wage is now $8.00 per hour ,so  for full time employees working 40 hours  per week . Their paychecks will only be about1, 280.00 dollars per month. On average rent is about 900.00 dollars a month. So what is left after rent is paid for people to survive?

Secondly, increasing minimum wage will help people to support their families more. For example, the more money a person earns from their job, the more help they can give to their family. Nothing in life is free. So a person will have to pay for whatever they need and want.  It definitely will be a struggle for a person who is receiving minimum wage.

Third of all with increasing minimum wage people will have a little extra money left to pay on loans. For example, my cousin was working at the today's minimum wage she received a raise that allowed her to have extra money to pay on her loans. Even though minimum wage and raises are different, both can be an increase to help add to a person’s salary.

To sum it all up, increasing minimum wage will help people pay for their cost of living, and to support their family. It will be a good feeling for people to know that their, will be less of a struggle for them in life financially if minimum wage is increased.
